Data Collection

tovie is designed with privacy at its core. We believe your movie watching habits are personal, and they should stay that way.

We do not collect, store, or process any of your personal data. All your movie data is stored locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account.

What We Don't Collect

  • Your movie watchlist or history
  • Your ratings or preferences
  • Analytics or usage data
  • Personal information of any kind
  • Device identifiers or tracking data

Third-Party Services

tovie uses the following third-party services:

  • TMDB (The Movie Database) — To search for movies and retrieve movie information like posters, descriptions, and release dates. No personal data is shared with TMDB.
  • Apple iCloud — To sync your movie data across your devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is subject to Apple's privacy policy.

Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's Core Data framework. If you enable iCloud sync, your data is also stored in your personal iCloud account, encrypted and accessible only to you.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect any data, there's nothing to delete or export from our end. You have full control over your data:

  • Delete the app to remove all local data
  • Manage iCloud storage through your device settings
  • Export your data using the in-app export feature

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this privacy policy, we'll update this page and the app. But our commitment to not collecting your data won't change.
